Former India captain MS Dhoni was devastated to learn of the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played Dhoni in the cricketer’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.’
The biopic’s director, Neeraj Pandey, who is close to Dhoni and Sushant, stated that the former India wicketkeeper-batsman was shocked and devastated to hear the sad news.
“In addition to calling Mahi bhai, I called two of his closest friends, Mihir Diwakar and Arun Pandey. They all appeared to be in a state of shock as a result of the terrible news. “Mahi bhai was shocked to hear the news and was shattered,” Neeraj Pandey told Sify.
Pandey praised the actor for his outstanding performance in the film, adding that even Dhoni was taken aback by Sushant’s dedication.
“He (Sushant) worked extremely hard to portray the character to perfection. We are grateful to Kiran More sir, who worked with Sushant for nearly nine months, grooming him. “Even Mahi Bhai was awestruck to see Sushant’s dedication to his biopic,” the director said, adding that Dhoni was crucial in selecting the right actor to play him.
Arun Pandey, the CSK captain’s business manager, also revealed that Dhoni was ‘devastated’ by Sushant’s death.
“We can’t believe what’s happened. I’m not sure how to express my sorrow. Mahi is also depressed. After Sushant died on June 14, 2020, Arun Pandey told ABP Ananda, “It was such a tragic incident.”
According to reports, Dhoni was devastated by Sushant’s death and went into seclusion. He didn’t even speak to anyone for several days after the news broke.
On June 14, last year, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his Bandra apartment. While some believe it was a suicide, others believe there is more to the storey and it could be a case of abetment to suicide. The investigation into his death is still ongoing.
