Rahul Dravid, former India captain and head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will be India’s coach on their tour of Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Sourav Ganguly, confirmed Dravid’s appointment as coach for the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka, as India’s senior team, led by captain Virat Kohli, will be competing in a five-match Test series against England.
The Indian Express quoted Ganguly as saying, “Rahul Dravid will be the coach for India’s tour to Sri Lanka.”
The Indian team for their tour of Sri Lanka has already arrived in Mumbai for a 14-day institutional quarantine.
Although the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is set to resume in the UAE in September, the BCCI has also written to the Indian government requesting tax exemption for the 2021 T20 World Cup, and a final decision on whether it will be held in India or the UAE will be made soon.
“We have written to the Indian government to request a tax exemption. We’re waiting for a response from them. There is still time. Ganguly added, “The board will make a decision on it soon.”
