Trademark filing is devilishly revealing.
While not formally revealed by the developer, the information has seemingly been leaked by a trademark filing with Justia Trademarks. The new logo, which appears to be consistent with previous ones from the anthology, was filed on July 1, 2021.
The mark is made up of the words “THE on top of the words DARK PICTURES, stacked on top of the words THE DEVIL IN ME,” according to the trademark organisation.
“The letter V in the word DEVIL is stylised, with a magnifying glass attached to the bottom of the letter V. On the left of the mark, there is a left-facing skull with a compass inside the skull,” the description explains (thanks ResetEra, via TheGamer), which is just as well, as there’s no way I would’ve guessed that that was a magnifying glass attached to the “V” – it looked like a necklace to me.

In case you missed it, House of Ashes, the third game in Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games’ anthology, will be released on October 22nd, 2021. We should get our first look at The Devil In Me near the end of that game, if not earlier.
Confirmation arrived at E3 2021, along with a new trailer and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reveal of the game’s monster big bad. Tom recently spoke with Will Doyle, the director of House of Ashes, about the game’s Iraq War setting, horror influences, and historical horror.
