The annual Game Developers Conference will take place entirely online starting on July 19th, but the organisers have stated that the event will return to its traditional physical location the following year. GDC 2022 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from March 21st to March 25th, according to the conference’s organisers, and will be the first time the conference will be held in person.
Despite the fact that it is not a major public event, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) has long been an important week for the games industry, with professionals from all over the world congregating in one place. (Sometimes platforms like Stadia are even announced there.) The 2020 edition was one of the first large-scale gaming events to be put on hiatus due to the pandemic, and while this year’s GDC was expected to have an in-person element, it eventually shifted to a completely virtual format.
For those who registered, GDC 2021 runs from July 19th through the 23rd, with a few notable talks and presentations, including the latest tech demo of Epic Games’ UE5 game engine.
