The 2.1 update for Genshin Impact will reportedly include the addition of a new island, Watasumi, as well as an entirely new fishing mechanic.

Even though the news hasn’t been officially confirmed by developer miHoYo, it has come to our attention via the reputable Twitter account Genshin Report. While we don’t know much about the new fishing mechanic – or how Watasumi will come into play – they did share renders of three characters who have already been announced to be joining the roster: Ball, Kokomi, and Sara.

Also teased was what they believe to be a new boss named La Signora, as well as a sneaky, blurry screenshot of her in action, which was posted by Genshin Report. Take a look at the examples below:

A release date for Update 2.1 is expected to be announced in early September, and it will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. There is currently no word on when the Nintendo Switch version will be released, but we will keep you updated as soon as we learn more.

ICYMI, Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy is heading to Genshin Impact.

Aloy will be available as a part of the roster for a “limited time,” according to the official PlayStation Twitter account, which confirmed the collaboration between developers Guerrilla and miHoYo. The tweet didn’t go into great detail, but a blog post by miHoYo explained that Aloy will be a free five-star character that will be available to everyone.

People who have accounts on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms will be able to claim Aloy directly through in-game mail after the 2.1 update, while those on other platforms will be granted access following the release of update 2.2.
