On July 19, Mumbai Police detained businessman Raj Kundra, who is also Shilpa Shetty’s husband, along with 11 other individuals on charges related to the alleged creation of pornographic films. They will be held in the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until July 27, according to the Mumbai Police.
With his arrest, the dark underbelly of Bollywood has once again come under the spotlight. While some, such as Gehana Vasisth, were seen supporting the businessman and stating that he preferred to make erotica rather than porn, others, such as Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra, were seen giving their own perspectives on the matter.
Sherlyn recently released a video statement regarding Raj Kundra’s alleged pornographic film production. She revealed that she was the first person to provide a statement to the Maharashtra cyber cell, which she did so anonymously. It was Sherlyn who informed the Maharashtra cyber cell about Armsprime, a company linked to Kundra in the porn app case, according to a video statement released by the company.
Kundra was charged with cheating under IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), as well as relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition Act)
