Dubai: The Chennai Super Kings are planning to fly their Indian and English players to the UAE a day after the fifth Test in Manchester was cancelled due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the visitors’ camp.
CSK’s squad includes Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shardul Thakur, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran, who have already begun training ahead of the IPL’s return on September 19.
Before COVID struck the Indian team, the plan was for a bubble-to-bubble transfer, with players from both teams flying to the UAE on a chartered flight.
“A chartered flight is no longer an option. We’re working hard to get them tickets for a commercial flight tomorrow. When they arrive, they will be quarantined for six days, just like the rest of the players “Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, told PTI.
Since junior physio Yogesh Parmar tested positive on Thursday, Indian players have been confined to their locker rooms in Manchester.
