Police have traced the owner of a severed finger found outside a block of flats.
On Saturday morning, the finger was discovered near a parking area on Lower Bannister Street in Southampton.
Police had asked for the man’s help after he lost his finger while attempting to climb a fence after becoming trapped in a courtyard area.
Hampshire Constabulary said the man was being treated at a hospital in Salisbury after requesting help.
According to a police spokesman, he wandered off after being given a towel by a resident.
Earlier, the police department expressed concern that he had lost a significant amount of blood.
“We are pleased to say that the man who lost part of his finger in Southampton has now been traced,” the spokesman said.
“The 28-year-old is being treated for his injury at a hospital in Salisbury after seeking medical attention on his own.”
